ICMEI Celebrates Suriname’s Independence Day, Strengthening Centuries-Old Ties Between India and Suriname

Noida: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, extended his warmest congratulations to H.E. Arukoemar Hardien, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname, and the people of Suriname on the occasion of their Independence Day, celebrated on 25th November. Speaking on behalf of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and the art and culture fraternity of India, Dr. Marwah highlighted the enduring and deeply rooted friendship between the two nations.

“India and Suriname share a unique and special bond that dates back centuries. This friendship has been further strengthened through cultural, historical, and economic ties. The establishment of the Indo-Suriname Film and Cultural Forum has added another significant chapter to this long-standing relationship, fostering closer collaboration in arts, culture, and media,” remarked Dr. Marwah.

Highlighting the contribution of ICMEI to cultural diplomacy, Dr. Marwah elaborated on how initiatives like the Indo-Suriname Film and Cultural Forum have created opportunities for meaningful exchanges between the two nations. “Through the Indo-Suriname Film and Cultural Forum, we have successfully provided a platform for Suriname and India to share their rich cultural heritage and artistic achievements with the world. This forum not only celebrates our shared history but also encourages future cooperation in film, media, and cultural industries,” he said.

Suriname, with its diverse cultural tapestry and shared heritage with India, has been an important partner in ICMEI’s endeavors to promote global cultural integration. Dr. Marwah emphasized that such platforms play a pivotal role in bringing nations closer and creating new avenues for bilateral cooperation.

As a global advocate for creative industries, Dr. Marwah reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancing India-Suriname relations through cultural and educational exchanges. “I extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E.
