
New Delhi: “International Journalism Centre, a body of 20,000 media professionals from all over the World had been successful in declaring 12th February as the International Day of Journalism in 2011 during the year of its inception. To mark respect to the day, we created Global Festival of Journalism Noida, the biggest journalism mela in the World. IJC also constituted Citizen Journalism Award, Marwah Studios International Award for Journalism, Global Excellence Award for Journalism but the biggest and most prestigious is Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism,” informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah IJC and GFJN 2022.
This year 5th Mahatma Gandhi National Award for Journalism goes to Veteran Padma Bhushan Prabhu Chawla the former Editor in Chief of India Today and Santosh Bhartia the editor of Chauthi Duniya presented by Sandeep Marwah in the presence of large audience from all over the World.
“I am humbled to receive this prestigious and popular award from International Journalism Centre and extend my hearties thanks to Dr. Marwah. Though I am not in active journalism, but I know that I cannot even live without being in it,” said Prabhu Chawla while accepting the award. He also mentioned the changing pattern of journalism and current situation of the newspapers and magazines which were one time playing a very important role in mending ways of society.
“It is my honor to be part of the event and then an award has added fuel to my life of journalist. I have been known as bold journalist and have no hesitation in facing consequences while writing truth,” added Santosh Bhartia Former Member of the Parliament on receiving 5th edition of Mahatma Gandhi National Award.
Noida: The second day of 5th GFJN celebrated World Radio Day as marked by United Nation and dignities present on the stage released the poster of World Radio Day to mark respect to one of the oldest medium of media.
“Love, Peace and Unity is the motive of Global Festival of Journalism. This is the only event of its kind, which is by the journalists for the journalists, and of the journalists,” said Sandeep Marwah Global Cultural Minister introducing International of Journalism and International Chamber of Media And Entertainment to the large international audience.
“The formation of Indo Maldives Film And Cultural Forum at this platform is an indication of bringing the World closer through the efforts of journalism,” said H.E. Ahmed Ambassador of Maldives to India on the opening of second day of 5th Global Festival of Journalism Noida 2017 at Noida Film City.
“India and Maldives relations go as back as our civilization but politically saying we are promoting our relations from last 50 years. This is a major step in building better relations,” added Ambassador.
“Journalism needs ample correction at different stages. Many journalists have forgotten the ethics and purpose of journalism. Good journalism can unite the World and bring positive attitude in the community,” said N.P.Singh District Magistrate of Noida narrating stories from his life.

Emphasizing the need for continuous programs in the media and entertainment industry to elevate the Chamber’s stature, Dr. Marwah proposed significant initiatives. “I am delighted to offer three Radio Stations – Radio Noida 107.4FM, Radio Raipur, and Radio Mumbai – for any and every program of IACC,” he announced.
