66th Festival of Short Digital Films at AAFT

“If films can leave an impact on the audience that is called a real communication, and film festivals are the best way to project the culture of any country” said Carlos A Irigoyen Forno, the Deputy Head of Mission, Peru Embassy in India while inaugurating the 66th Festival of Short Digital Films produced by Marwah Films and Video Production and directed by the students of AAFT. “It is important to keep in mind the need of audience while producing the films. Film making not only needs your willingness but ability too.” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of International Film and Television Club welcoming all the guests of 66th FSDF. Some of the finest films were shown during the festival including The Final Cut Off Directed by Balwender Singh, Maimuna Directed by Ismail Sarr, The Beggar by Shathi Vijayan, Last Breath by Himanshu Chittkara, 2080 Life Without Oil by Daniel Martin, Night Tales by Daniel Ekundayo Akinshola, and 4th Idiot by Sanjeev Rai. Others who spoke on the occasion were Satish Kapoor, President of voluntary organization Brotherhood, Rajiv Raghunatan former editor of Financial Express, Dr. Asmi Raza Editor Indian Dominion, S.K. Goel financial consultant, Satya Bhushan Jain trustee Narayan Sewa Sansthan, Speaking about the importance of film festivals Prof. Harshvardhan Director Academics, Prof. Gubir Garewal Jt. Director AAFT and R.K. Singh Dean Asian School of Media Studies expressed their views.

Sanjay Chhel expressed his views to Young Film Makers

“Film directors are going to be successful for sure who believe in writing their own scripts” said Sanjay Chhel the renowned story, script, screenplay, dialogue ,lyrics writer of Rangeela, Daud, Yes Boss, Jo Bole So Nihal, Partner and director of feature films like Khoobsurat, Man Gaye Mugal-E-Azam, Yahhuu, Kya Dil ne Kahaa, talking to the students of final year of Cinema and PGD in Direction at Asian School Of Media Studies at Noida Film City.
“Education and training in cinema, observation, reading, watching cinema are some of the first steps toward achieving goals for all of you.” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios and Director of Asian School Of Media Studies to Cinema students. “Honest towards your profession, hard work and continuous persuasion are the second part of this business” Marwah added.
Answering to the large questions Sanjay Chhel gave all those tips to the students which they can adapt and practice to be a good writer. The exercise motivated them to large extend.
The personalized class with Sanjay Chhel was conducted by Rahul Sehgal HOD Cinema ASMS who initiated the importance of writing in Cinema. .R.K.Singh Dean ASMS paid vote of thanks .Later Sandeep Marwah presented the life membership of International Film and Television Club of AAFT to Sanjay Chhel who also spoke his experiences to Radio Noida 107.4FM. The event was co-organized by International Public Broadcasting Forum.

Workshop By Greece Film Maker At AAFT

A new excitement was created when the Greece film maker Yiannis Arsenis completed
five days workshop at Asian Academy of Film And Television [AAFT] with the students of short term and one year Direction course at film city Noida.
“We at AAFT want our students to have an international exposure of film and television production and business through World class faculty and practicing foreign professionals at our own campus” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah studios and renowned Media personality of Asia while introducing young enthusiastic film director from Greece
.
“I am pleased to be associated with this film school and honored to be part of the faculty.” said Yiannis Arsenis while sharing his experience of MTV, BBC and Greece Film School with the students. “I want media students of this school to come to Greece and join me in my next production. Soon I may start one documentary film in India too.” He added.
Later Sandeep Marwah presented Yiannis with the life membership of International Film and Television Club of AAFT and Gurbir Garewal Jt. Director AAFT paid vote of Thanks. The workshop was supported by International Public Broadcasting Forum.

Travel disruption ensures students capture even more from India visit A group of film students have encountered an international University trip which they’ll remember forever. Eight students and one lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) embarked on the trip of a lifetime to India but the recent travel difficulties have proved inspirational for further filming opportunities. The screenwriting and film production undergraduates set off in late March to spend three weeks in New Delhi at the Asian Academy of Film & Television conjuring up two short films during their stay. One member of the group, John Coxhead, has created a blog detailing the events of their epic journey.

Award Winning Croatian Director At AAFT

A special film and TV workshop has been conducted by the well known Croatian film maker Ljubica Jankovic Lazaric for the students of direction at Asian Academy of Film and Television [AAFT] in Noida Film City.
“ I am proud to introduce an award winning film maker who has recently won award for her documentary at International Film Festival Zagreb Dox in Croatia “ said Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios and Director of AAFT. “ She has directed more than 250 documentary films in countries like Germany, Australia, USA, Italy, Albania, Iran, and India.” Marwah informed.
I am elevated to be one of the faculty members at AAFT and would love to share my vast experience in documentary film making as a part of my duty” said Ljubica Jankovic Lazaric, the product of University of Zagreb and member of Croatian Film Director’s Guild. “My last film is covering a controversial subject of ‘being Lesbian’. Idea is to project the feelings and status of these people in society.” Ljubica expressed.
Later the international film maker Ljubica released the new publication of documentary cell of International Film and Television Research Centre ‘HARYANAVI CINEMA’ an initiative of Sushil Saini, an alumnus of AAFT, dept of Direction. Prof. Gurbir Garewal, Jt. Director AAFT also spoke on the subject. The event was supported by International Film and Television Club and Radio Noida.

National Workshop on Sustainable Development & Eco Philosophy

“God has given us resources to use not to misuse” said Swami Pranavasuddhan Tapaswi, incharge Santhigiri Ashram, New Delhi while introducing the subject of Ecology to the large gathering at Teen Murti on the second day of National seminar on ‘Sustainable Development and Eco Philosophy’ organized by the Santhigiri Rearch Foundation. ‘The main cause of changing ecology is the rising population and changing technology” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios and Dy General, Convenor Coordination Committee. “The ecology difference effects Water, soil, atmosphere and living things. All this can be handled individually, organizational way and by government” Marwah condensed. Dr Rohan D’Souza, Professor project incharge, Centre for Science Policy JNU explained and talked about his detailed research on the subject giving some interesting statistics. Others who spoke on the subject were Dr C.V.Babu Dept. of philosophy, Zakir Hussain College. Dr C.R.Babu, Emiritus Professor Project incharge, Biodiversity parks, New Delhi chaired the program and conducted it as well. “Lets try to change the mind set of people and induce them to work on this side to have balanced natural resources which means non polluted air, clean water, stable land & mountains and long life for human beings and animals” he added. They are considered as a perpetual curse by the community. The existing attitude of masses is increasingly isolating them from the main stream of society, until all concerned awaken and do some-thing to alter the present conditions and earnestly look after the interests of the disabled children” Marwah added while talking to the national press and media students at Asian Academy of Film and Television [AAFT]. “BECCS realized that with little intensive efforts these children and people could be a normal and self reliant citizen of a country in all means (i.e. socially, economically, physically and morally) we took a step in this direction as considering it is our social and moral responsibility to ameliorate the sufferings of the children.” said Brijesh the Secretary of the society. ICFF International Children’s Film Forum will support the cause.

Japanese Film Festival At Marwah Studios

“ It’s not only a film festival but a cultural exchange between two countries, the Japanese films today are representing my country in this campus of Media Professionals ” said Teriyuki Hoshini Director, Japan Foundation in India while inaugurating the two days Japanese Film Festival at Marwah Studios organized by Asian School of Media Studies. The two days Japanese films Festival will show four films: High and Low- Akira Kurosawa, End of Summer – Yasujiri Ozu, Godzilla- Inshiro Honda and Kill directed by Kinchi Onomoto. The films represent the culture, tradition and heritage of Japanese cinema presenting the best in domain of film culture. The screening is also accompanied by workshops by Cinedarbaar to bring a greater degree of understanding and knowhow of Japanese cinema. Addressing to the large gathering of film, television and media students Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chairperson of International Film and Television Club, thanked the director of the Japan Foundation for the contribution towards this remarkable culture exchanged and presented him with the life membership of International Film & Television Club of AAFT.
