Contemporary art of Bengal on display at MEC gallery

Paintings by the Kolkata-based painter Chandrashekhar Acharya are on the display at the MEC Art gallery in Khan Market in collaboration with Asian Academy of Film and Television. Inaugurating the exhibition, art connoisseur Atul Marwah said that the stirrings of traditional visual art and literature have been inherent in the contemporary art of Bengal . MEC Art Gallery has a long tradition of hosting the great artists in a wide ranging spectrum. Allegory plays a vital role in Acharya’s paintings. He creates a harmony, an idiosyncratic tapestry of form, palette and composition drawn from these shared conscious and unconscious themes.
