Fashion Workshop by Rina Dhaka at AAFT School of Fashion
Noida: “Fashion is the most general term and applies to any way of dressing, behaving, writing, or performing that is favored at any one time or place. the current fashion style often implies a distinctive fashion adopted by people of taste. Fashion has the ability to change and shape lives through its personal connection to us all. We all have to wear clothes and every piece of clothing we buy represents a personal choice – it is this intrinsically human relationship between us and our fashion that makes it political,” said Sandeep Marwah President of AAFT School of Fashion and Design while talking to the new batch of students of 2022.
Sustainable fashion or eco-friendly fashion as we say is the conscious decision of making collections that are focused on greater ecological integrity. We believe in “timeless” pieces in every sense. Freshness of flowers, the fluidity of nature, and the flow of energies give the universe a movement that defines our lives. Our collection is about the gypsy that’s in each of us & the ever-evolving nature of life. The silhouettes are breezy & the eco liva friendly fabrics make it lightweight & skin-friendly,” said Rina Dhaka while answering the questions by students.
Rina Dhaka is known as a designer for women WHO THINK. She is referred to as the Gautier of East by BBC, as she is known as a fashion crusader whose trademark lies in combining traditional Indian Garments with 20th-century modern fabrics like lycra and jersey.
She has won the “Best Designer ” award at the Miami Fashion Week 2004. She is also the recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award Yuva rattan Award & has also represented India at the Indian Promotions at Galeries Lafayette in Paris and Inters Off in Germany.
Her work is exhibited across the world at The Louvre, Paris; The Metropolitan Museum, New York; London; Mauritius; South Africa; Dubai; Singapore; Hong Kong & USA.
She retails from her Exclusive Brand Outlet at DLF Emporio apart from Top Design Labels across the world like Anthropology- USA; Indomix – USA; Lodenfrey- Munich; Fine Rhine- Hong Kong and eminent Multi Designer Stores in India. Director Ritu Lal paid vote of thanks and Sandeep Marwah Presented Rina Dhaka with life membership of International Film and Television Club.
