Noida, India, 9th August 2024: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), representing the entire fraternity of art and culture in India, extends its warmest congratulations to H.E. Samon Wong, High Commissioner of Singapore to India, and the people of Singapore on the occasion of their National Day. Celebrated on 9th August, this day marks Singapore’s journey of progress and its vibrant cultural legacy.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI, expressed his heartfelt greetings, stating, “India and Singapore enjoy a robust and dynamic relationship, strengthened by shared values and mutual respect. On this significant day, we celebrate the enduring bond between our nations and look forward to further enhancing our cultural and artistic collaborations.”
The Indo-Singapore Film and Cultural Forum, designed to foster closer cultural ties and artistic exchanges between India and Singapore, holds significant potential for deepening the relationship between the two countries. Dr. Marwah emphasized the need to promote this forum at a larger scale, saying, “The Indo-Singapore Film and Cultural Forum serves as a crucial platform for showcasing the rich cultural heritage of both nations. We are committed to expanding this initiative and exploring new avenues for collaboration.”
ICMEI has been instrumental in strengthening India-Singapore relations through various diplomatic and cultural engagements. The multiple visits of ICMEI officers to Singapore have played a vital role in furthering these ties. However, Dr. Marwah noted that these efforts deserve greater recognition and emphasis. “Our visits to Singapore have laid a strong foundation for deeper engagement. It is important that we highlight these interactions and continue to build upon them to enhance our bilateral relations,” he added.
ICMEI remains dedicated to promoting international relations through media and entertainment, with a strong focus on cultural diplomacy. The celebration of Singapore’s National Day at ICMEI headquarters in Noida Film City underscores its commitment to fostering closer artistic and cultural collaborations with nations across the globe.
