ICMEI Congratulates Belgium on National Day, Reaffirms Cultural Ties through Indo-Belgium Film & Cultural Forum. New Delhi, 21st July 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) extends its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to India, and the people of Belgium on the joyous occasion of their National Day, celebrated every year on 21st July. Addressing the media, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI and Chair of the Indo-Belgium Film and Cultural Forum, shared his deep admiration for the vibrant cultural ties between the two nations. “Belgium has always been close to our hearts. I have personally visited Belgium on multiple occasions to strengthen cultural and artistic collaboration. I had the honour of serving as Guest of Honour and International Jury at the prestigious Mons International Film Festival. Where I was also felicitated for my contributions,” he stated. The Indo-Belgium Film and Cultural Forum, under the aegis of ICMEI, has been instrumental in fostering enduring partnerships through various initiatives. Such as These include: Scholarships for deserving students from Belgium. Special radio and television programs promoting Indo-Belgian cooperation, Tourism Road Shows to highlight Belgian travel and heritage. Hence Culinary Festivals featuring authentic Belgian cuisine, Film festivals showcasing cinema from Belgium. Belgium has also consistently participated as a valued partner in ICMEI’s flagship global events such as the Global Film Festival. Global Fashion Week, Global Literary Festival, and the Global Festival of Journalism. Dr. Marwah emphasized, “Art and culture continue to be powerful tools for diplomacy and friendship. We look forward to further deepening our collaboration with Belgium in the years to come.”
