Sandeep Marwah Highlights MSME Strength of Indian Film, Television and Media Industry
New Delhi: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, Founder of Noida Film City and Vice President of the Film Federation of India, addressed a special MSME Seminar held during the Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav (Indian Business Expo), organised by the MSME Development Board of BJP under the leadership of Chairman Rajnish Goenka.
Speaking at the seminar, Rajnish Goenka highlighted the enormous contribution of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to India’s rapidly expanding film, television and media ecosystem.
Dr. Marwah said, “Nearly 95 percent of the Indian film, television and media industry is driven by MSMEs. From production houses and studios to equipment suppliers, post-production companies, technicians, creative professionals, broadcasters, event companies and allied services, MSMEs form the backbone of the entire media and entertainment ecosystem.”
He further said, “The media and entertainment industry is one of the most powerful engines for employment, entrepreneurship, innovation and cultural diplomacy. If MSMEs in this sector are given the right financial support, technology, training, infrastructure and market access, India can emerge as an even stronger global media and entertainment hub.”
Dr. Marwah also emphasised the need for greater collaboration between government bodies, industry associations, educational institutions and MSMEs to create new opportunities for young entrepreneurs and professionals. He said that the creative economy has tremendous potential to contribute to India’s vision of a developed and self-reliant nation.
Other prominent speakers at the seminar included Kiran Chopra, Chairperson, Punjab Kesari, and Amit Goel, National Board Member, MSME Development Forum, who shared their views on strengthening India’s MSME ecosystem and creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
The session provided an important platform for discussion on the challenges, opportunities and future growth of MSMEs, particularly in emerging and creative sectors.
Later, Dr. Sandeep Marwah was honoured by the MSME Development Forum in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards promoting the Media and Entertainment Industry through various platforms and initiatives. The honour acknowledged his sustained efforts in creating opportunities for media professionals, entrepreneurs, students and creative enterprises in India and abroad.
The programme concluded with a renewed call for strengthening MSMEs as key drivers of India’s economic growth, employment generation and global competitiveness.
